If you are looking for best engagement sessions in Buffalo, I’ve got you covered! If you’re anything like me when I was engaged I was searching and trying to figure out exactly what I wanted for my engagement pictures. It is especially hard to pin point a place to take them because there are soooo many great options in Buffalo and the surrounding areas. Do I want to be on the water with Lake Erie in the background or more of a city feel with maybe City Hall behind me? Below you will find a list with the best locations in Buffalo within 45 mins of the city or less. I grew up in Buffalo and have taken couple’s sessions in every one I have listed. So if you are searching for places to do engagement photos, you have to check out the best Buffalo engagement spots below!
Buffalo Outer Harbor
I’m kicking off this list of best engagement photo locations in Buffalo with my absolute favorite photo location in the Buffalo area. This one is obvious I know! But that’s why I have to list it. Listen the reason Buffalo is such a gorgeous city is because of the views of Lake Erie, at least in my opinion. Plus it doesn’t get much more Buffalo than sitting right next to the water. Above I have a photos from Hannah and Austin’s couple session. Most people think that if you get engagement photos by the Lake you will ONLY have photos by the lake. I LOVE the Buffalo Outer Harbor for engagement sessions for so many reasons. The outer harbor has really nice tall grass which is perfect for some greenery in your engagement session . This option is really nice too because it is so easy to move away from people that way you don’t have to cuddle up as a bunch of people are watching you… cause how awkward is that. Plus golden hour photos by the water *chefs kiss*
Buffalo Bills Stadium
I believe it doesn’t get more Buffalo than this. Mayyybbbbe if we put a table out there to smash with some more beers than it would be complete. Just kidding not for your engagement photos save that for the game. But I wanted to add this because we have the best fans in the league and I know that we have so many die hard bills fans that would love some photos here. For example, Felicia and Austin had some photos taken here and then we drove to a park nearby. So just a little bit of more relaxed photos at the Stadium then we had more formal couples photos at the park. Your engagement photos can be anything YOU want.
Chestnut Ridge, Orchard Park
You have sooo many options with Chestnut Ridge in Orchard Park you really cannot go wrong. Plus best thing is that you can take your engagement photos here at any time of the year. There are so many different field type areas with of course the gorgeous trees it really is so versatile. Plus my favorite part about the location is its so remote! So if you or your partner are super shy or nervous about posing for some photos in front of people there are so many options in the park to go to avoid people.
Cobble Stone District
I feel like this is a hidden gem. The Cobblestone District is right by the Key Bank Center in Downtown Buffalo. This is another great option for a couple who may be shy and doesn’t want to have a lot of people watching them for their intimate engagement photos. If you love the rustic engagement look this is it. There is so much exposed brick it is an ideal location. Plus the murals you see above is on the street right next to the cobblestone district.
Niagara Gorge (Devils hole)
Now… this is a hike. So be prepared to bring comfy shoes because you have to hike down the path and take photos at the bottom. BUT its worth it. Trust me. When I took my couple for their engagement photos I had to tell them to bring comfy shoes just because it would be awful to walk in heels for your engagement pictures. There are lots and lots of stairs but its worth it. The photos are breath taking though. Highly recommend to any couples.
Knox Farm
I love knox farm because there plenty of area to walk around to take photos. Be mindfull that a lot of people choose to have their photos down here so if you come at prime golden hour in the fall there will be plenty of families and couples trying to take photos.
Wilkeson Pointe
Wilkeson Pointe CAN be busy. But theres so many cute areas in this park that I think it is worth it! If you want a variety of photos by the water and photos with flowers this is your place. Plus you can always stop by Buffalo Riverworks after for a beer.
Delaware Park
Delaware Park is arguably the prettiest parks in Buffalo. The garden area of the park is gorgeous! It would be the perfect background of any engagement photo. With that being said I only recommend this park if you do not mind taking photos in front of people. This park has so many options on where to take photos the only thing is because it is such a huge big park located in down town it can be busy.
Tift Nature Preserve
Tift nature preserve is right by the water. Another great spot for photos because theres a little of everything. Theres the pretty field, the water, woodsy vibe. You can get everything you want in one spot. Be sure to check it out if you want some ideas for your engagement session!
There you have it! My absolute favorite Buffalo engagement photography session locations that are all within a one hour drive from the center of the city or less. In my opinion these are the best of the best places for engagement photos in Buffalo although I have plenty of others in the area locations up my sleeve as well. Ultimately the perfect place for your engagement session is completely up to you! I hope my list gave you some new ideas or at least can help you narrow it down 🙂
